‘Tico e Teco’ to get live-action movie on Disney + starring Andy Samberg

Not many people know about the famous squirrel duo ‘Tico and Teco’ and, to celebrate the legacy of these adorable characters, Disney + announced at Casa Mouse Investor Day that they would be winning a hybrid film of animation and d ‘live action.

With its premiere slated for 2022, the production will feature the voices of Andy Samberg and John Mulaney and function as a reboot of the series ‘Tico and Teco and the Defenders of the Law’.

Akiva Schaffer, known for his work on “Saturday Night Live”, will lead the project.

Tico and Teco made their Walt Disney Company debut in 1943 as part of the short film “ Private Pluto ”, directed by Clyde Geronimi, where they argue with Pluto over whether or not they can hide their nuts in a cannon in a military base.

Anthropomorphic squirrels allude to famous 18th-century furniture designer Thomas Chippendale.
