‘Tomorrow’s War’ Sci-Fi Starring Chris Pratt Can Be Sold On Amazon Prime

Originally slated to debut in 2020, the science fiction “ The War of Tomorrow ” has been postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, according to Deadline, there is a possibility that the theatrical release will be canceled and the film will be shown directly on a streaming service.

The website claims production company Skydance plans to sell the feature to a streaming service. The film was reportedly shown on major streaming platforms last weekend and the outcome was overwhelmingly positive, drawing in several interested parties.

Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy“) stars in the project. The cast also includes JK Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Yvonne Strahovski, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Edwin Hodge.

The story is set in a dystopian future in which mankind is losing a war against aliens. To change the tragic outlook, scientists recruit soldiers from the past to aid them in battle. Pratt will be a man who will have to face his past to save the world, while Simmons will have to play his father. Gilpin’s character has yet to be revealed.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Jules Daly, Adam Kolbrenner and David Goyer will be the producers, with Rob Cowan as executive producer. Filming is set to begin in September this year in Atlanta and Iceland.
