Warner Bros. has released a CONFIRMING new commercial that will air all of its 2021 movies simultaneously on the HBO Max streaming service.
The video features previously unseen scenes from ‘Mortal Kombat’, ‘Godzilla vs. Kong ‘, and others.
The move comes after several theaters have closed their doors again with the increase in COVID-19 cases around the world and the uncertainty of the scenario this year.
This includes’ The Suicide Squad ‘,’ Matrix 4 ‘,’ Dune ‘,’ The Many Saints of Newark ‘,’ In a New York Neighborhood ‘,’ Space Jam 2 ‘,’ Mortal Kombat ‘and’ Godzilla vs. Kong ‘.
Warner Bros. stresses that this agreement will not be permanent. Only the 2021 films are part of this plan, which is a direct response to the ongoing pandemic. There are no plans to continue this wave in 2022, at least for now.
“These are unprecedented times that require creative solutions, including this new initiative for Warner Bros. Pictures Group, ”said Ann Sarnoff, President and CEO of WarnerMedia. “Nobody wants movies to come back to the big screen more than us. We know new content is the cornerstone of theatrical presentations, but we have to balance that with the fact that most theaters in the United States will likely be operating at reduced capacity throughout 2021. ”
