“Wonder Woman 1984” had maintained the critical success of the previous film by opening with a spectacular 89% approval rating in the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator. However, as more reviews were added to the site, the rating for the feature has dropped steadily, stabilizing, for now, at 60% with 356 reviews counted.
While still in the “fresh” range, the film can go “rotten” (rotten) if it drops just one more point – adding another title to the critically ill-received DCEU film series.
It’s worth remembering that the first entry in the ‘Wonder Woman’ franchise is the most received production in the Extended Universe, with 93% approval. The work is followed by “Shazam!” (90%), ‘Birds of Prey’ (78%), ‘Aquaman’ (65%) and ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ (60%). In the poorly rated section we have ‘Man of Steel’ (56%), ‘Justice League’ (40%), ‘Batman vs. Superman ”(28%) and“ Suicide Squad ”(26%).
Regardless, the sequel with Gal Gadot continues to surprise at the box office around the world, despite its simultaneous release on streaming platforms in the United States.
So far, the film has grossed $ 100 million worldwide, having aired in China and other overseas territories last weekend.
